I can be a bit of a rebel at times, so I was more than happy to break the tradition of “Taco Tuesday” by joining a friend for Taco WEDNESDAY..
Taco Mama is located in the heart of Mountain Brook in Crestline Village, a fun and family oriented area that has something to offer everyone from food to fashion.
Upon arrival, I immediately noticed the colorful and vibrant atmosphere that serves as a lunch stop for your typical “8-5” workers and students in the area… As I’ve stated in a previous post (here), I love dining and shopping in towns that hold small gems such as this..
Here’s what we had for lunch:
Since this was my first visit, I wanted to try 2 different types of tacos to see which one I preferred. I went with the ‘Mix & Match’ Taco Basket (I chose the ‘Justice is Served’ & ‘Alabama Redneck’ Tacos)
The Justice is Served Taco consists of: Grilled shrimp (You also have the choice of grilled or fried flounder) with ancho chile slaw, avocado, tomatoes, roasted poblano tartar (Of the two tacos, this was my FAVE!)
The ‘Alabama Redneck’ consists of: Roasted pulled pork, ancho chile slaw, pickles, mama’s chipotle BBQ Sauce
I chose the Honey Chipotle Corn as my side.
My Lunch Companion had the “Mama’s Salad” – Grilled Chicken on a bed of mixed greens with shredded cheese, tomatoes, and croutons.
Overall this was a very light, but filling lunch. (I was so tempted to order a cocktail, but opted not to since I had to return to the office. See there’s that rebel creeping out again!)
Have you ever dined at Taco Mama?! Tell me about your experience! If you haven’t, you have to add it to your weekly lunch “rotation”.
Though I can’t have shelled fish, this place sound amazing. I wish the was one here in Texas for me to stop by and try! Xx

I love seafood! I’m not sure what I’d do if I was allergic to it. Maybe you’ll make AL one of your travel destinations in the future. đŸ™‚
